092121 Looking Through the Hole in the Wall

7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

Ezekiel 8:7-12 (KJV)

Approximately six years prior to the final fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple (which occurred c. 586 BC), Ezekiel was shown in a vision (some translations refer to a “trance”) what was going on behind the scenes with the spiritual leadership in the nation. While outwardly all seemed well to many observers, Ezekiel was shown the corruption, idolatry, and blatant sin occurring “behind the wall.” Those in leadership had not only compromised with impurity and mixture, they were actively participating in it. Through the pages of the Bible, God has more than once confronted His people with the need to repent over spiritual and moral compromise that they had allowed themselves to become enmeshed in. Here, God shows Ezekiel a “hole in the wall” through which might be observed those activities that those participating in them thought would never be exposed.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

I Peter 4:17 (KJV)

As the “remnant” arises in our day, we must know that judgment MUST begin at the “House of God” with US! God is again directing our attention to a “hole in the wall” to expose hidden things of dishonesty and darkness that have been allowed and even at times encouraged to corrupt the Church that is called by His Name. Mixture, compromise, and outright impurity have taken some in leadership into their nefarious hold. Sans deep and thorough repentance, exposure and judgment are soon to be manifested. But we have God’s Promise that if we judge ourselves, we will not be judged (I Corinthians 11:31).

I certainly am not “God’s Policeman” and I have never been a rabid “heresy hunter.” However, as the late Pastor E. V. Hill was fond of declaring, “Something ought to be SAID!” I will not here address issues in other faith streams. It is the responsibility of those in leadership in those groups to do that. But, as I am unashamedly Pentecostal/Charismatic, I can no longer be silent in the face of mixture, compromise, false doctrine, and outright corruption within the ranks wherein I march in the Kingdom of God. God is indeed exposing the hidden works of darkness! And it begins at the House of God!

The Lord gave me a word at the beginning of 2021. I heard, “We are entering a season of ‘suddenlies’…suddenlies in blessing and suddenlies in judgment.” While participating in a Holy Ghost Forum in New Jersey a couple of years ago, I heard the witness of the Holy Spirit say, “Unexpected deaths in both the political and religious realms. Some will be taken out before they take a step too far.” For those with eyes to see, God is granting a glimpse through the hole in the wall, for our good and for His Glory.

When a mega-church “pastor” can stand in the pulpit and talk in tongues on Sunday morning, and then on Tuesday morning publicly endorse and vote for political candidates who openly espouse the butchering of babies and the selling of their dismembered body parts on the open market, and not see the disconnect, it should be obvious that there is serious demonic deception and corruption at work. When a “pastor” is asked on a national talk show whether homosexual behavior is sinful, and his response is, “My position on that is still evolving,” it should be obvious that there is serious demonic deception and corruption at work. When another “pastor” can say on national television, in response to an interviewer’s question regarding whether abortion is a sin, “Well, I would have to know your background and what is going on in your life at the moment,” it should be obvious that there is serious demonic deception and corruption at work. Ezekiel was shown in a vision hidden corruption through a “hole in the wall.” However, anyone who is committed to the integrity of Scripture should be readily able to recognize and renounce the mixture and compromise we see operating today, even without supernatural prophetic insight.

I attended one meeting decades ago to “check out” the reports of signs and wonders that had come to me. Please don’t misunderstand what I am saying. We serve an Almighty God who does indeed perform signs, wonders, and miracles. However, just because “signs and wonders” are advertised does not mean that all that happened was necessarily by the Spirit of God. We must be discerning. At any rate, this “minister” called out an individual in the crowd of hundreds, and told the man that his check book was in his back pocket and contained checks of a certain color. The strong implication was that the man should immediately write out a big offering to the “minister” on one of those checks.

In another meeting, again decades ago, a so-called “prophet” was not only “prophesying” money from people’s pockets into his, but also “prophesying” wives (especially cute ones) away from their husbands to connect with a “soul mate” that would be “revealed.” The implication should be obvious. In this man’s meetings women would literally swoon as he laid hands on them, some crawling on the floor toward his feet. Now I believe firmly in people falling to the floor under the genuine Power of God, but this was something else. Following the women to the floor, he would hover over them to make sure they “felt the anointing.” I have seen this happen in more than one “minister’s” meetings over the years and it ALWAYS grieves my spirit to know that so many cannot distinguish between emotional infatuation and the anointing.

Another time in more recent memory, I was invited to attend a particular meeting. While I had serious reservations, I believed I was definitely impressed by the Lord to go. As it turned out, there were things there that He indeed wanted me to see. While there, it seemed that each time I tried to close my eyes to worship, my eyes would pop back open almost involuntarily. I did not hear the Lord say so, but it was as though He wanted my eyes to stay open. In addition to serious red flags and alarm bells in my spirit signaling all was not right there on several fronts, the last straw came as one speaker “prophesied” to an individual that a long dead relative would come to them to help them. The leadership did not correct this blatant foray into necromancy (forbidden in Holy Scripture), and continued to endorse and exalt the “ministry” of this “prophet.” Just for the record, your dead relatives are NOT coming back to help you! However, a demonic spirit might indeed impersonate someone’s dead kinfolk in an attempt to deceive them and bring them into bondage.

Finally, just a few days ago, I was made aware of a video taken at a recent meeting hosted by one whom many believe to be a prominent Charismatic leader. Although I never personally “connected” with this man, some of his books did bless me early on in my Christian walk. However, in the video, this prominent leader and some of his staff ministers, cut their hands and allowed their human blood to flow into the communion cups, mingling their blood with the grape juice normally used for communion, before drinking to solidify their “covenant.” God has NEVER endorsed the drinking of blood PERIOD, especially the drinking of human blood! That is a pagan practice, rooted in demonic spiritual rituals! How could such a thing not be openly called out and rebuked by others in national Pentecostal/Charismatic leadership?

God is pulling back the curtains, and allowing those works of darkness practiced by his people to be exposed. Judgment must begin at the house of God. Many of us have been aghast at what we have witnessed through the “hole in the wall.” No longer can we remain silent. Some things I have not previously addressed because of my honor and respect for the tremendous spiritual heritage behind those involved. But, as Bonhoeffer declared, “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself!”

As the “remnant” arises, there will come a sharper and sharper dividing line between Truth and “mixture.” Deception will threaten the very elect. We cannot “nitpick” over secondary doctrinal disagreements. But obvious and blatant violations of Scriptural Truth and Practice MUST be addressed and corrected. Discipline and even Excommunication (not popular terms among many modern Charismatics for sure) should sadly follow repeated attempts by those in position to do so to minister correction in love. May all of us stay close to the Lord, and stay firmly grounded in the realm of Biblical Truth! Be Blessed!
